Math Journal Monday (Insect Word Problems)
This week we started one of my favorite science units, insects. One of my sweet parents donated a butterfly life cycle kit from Insect Lore to our class. Our precious, little caterpillars arrived last week and they're already snoozing in their chrysalises. Hopefully, we'll have butterflies in the next few weeks. I was inspired by our little science adventure when I was creating this week's math journal problems. Click on the picture to download word problems with an insect theme.

Telling Time to the Hour and Half Hour, A K-1 Time Packet
I just finished and posted my new time packet. This 47 page time packet is filled with a week's worth of time activities. It is intended for a kindergarten or first grade class. All of the activities review time to the hour and half hour. This packet includes:
* Time Vocabulary Cards
* Telling Time Memory
* The Buggy for Time Board Game and Recording Sheet
* The Dino Time Board Game and Recording Sheet
* It's Party Time Board Game and Recording Sheet
* It's Time for Rain Board Game and Recording Sheet
* Telling Time I Have, Who Has
* What's Your Bedtime? Survey
* Match the Time Cut and Paste
* Fill in the Missing Times Printables
* Telling Time Math Journal Problems
We started using some of the board games today in class and my kids had a blast! It's the best feeling in the world when you put so much time and energy into lesson planning and it all clicks. I'm going to take a few pictures of their learning in process and I'll post those later this week.

Landform Word Problems Freebie and Landforms Unit
Hi Sweet Readers! I'm so sorry that I didn't post my Monday math journal freebie this week. I've been sick with a respiratory infection and I feel behind in pretty much everything. I'm almost back to 100% so here I am back to posting. :) This week's math journal problems are from my brand new Learning Landforms Unit. Click on the picture below to download four word problems that incorporate landform vocabulary.
Do you struggle with coming up with fun activities for landforms? Well, I always have. I usually get way more creative with my other math and science lessons. I stretched my brain and created this landforms unit. I'm so glad I did because, we've had a blast this week. The first person to comment on this post will receive my new landforms unit for free. Please be sure to include your email address. Click on the picture below to check out my Learning Landforms Unit.
